(1) The identity card shall be deemed automatically canceled in the following cases:-
(a) In case of automatic cancellation according to section 17 of the Act,
(b) If the period of validity of the identity card expires.
(2) If it is found that an identity card has been obtained by submitting false information, the identity card issuing authority may cancel the identity card at any time.
(3) According to sub-rule (2), before canceling any identity card, the concerned non-resident Nepali should be given an opportunity to present his justification.
